DIG welcomes volunteers as part of its team and offers both front-of-house and behind the scenes roles. Whether you want to come to gain new skills or use existing ones, undertake a new experience or meet new people; we are always very pleased to hear from people interested in volunteering at DIG.

WHAT CAN I DO?

DIG is currently able to offer volunteer positions in the following areas:

  • Front-of-house Assistants
  • Events Assistants
  • Research Assistants
  • Garden Assistants
  • Garden Team Leader.

Please note that some positions such as Research Assistants will be limited depending on our current projects.

WHAT SKILLS & EXPERIENCE DO I NEED?

You don't need any particular experience or skills for most of our roles. Anything you need to know will be part of your training.

All we ask is that you have an interest in the past, an enthusiasm for your chosen role and, for front-of-house roles, are happy interacting with people.

WHAT DO I DO NOW?

If you are interested in joining us or would just like more information, then all you need to do is contact our Volunteer and Placement Coordinator.

You can come along to meet us and see what you think before you have to make a decision.

If you feel the opportunities we have on offer are suitable for you, then you will be invited to discuss the options further and fill out a simple registration form. We will ask for the contact details of two referees and some form of identification. Please ask if you need more information.

A copy of the Volunteer and Placement form can be downloaded here.

Descriptions of the roles can be downloaded here
